• Job Title: Mechanical Assembler / Manufacturing Operator B
• Job Description
• This role is responsible for assembling mechanical components and sub-assemblies, performing material and final washing, conducting rework and repair operations, and loading pallets in a clean, modern manufacturing environment.

You support quality and manufacturing processes to meet production objectives and customer requirements, including training to connect assembled pumps to test devices and operate test stands to verify performance.

• Responsibilities
• + Study job packets and work instructions to prepare for each assignment and ensure correct parts, sub-assemblies, tools, and materials are available.

+ Examine parts for proper fit and assemble components and sub-assemblies according to work instructions and standard work procedures.

+ Perform line component assembly, individual sub-assembly, material washing, final washing, rework, repair operations, and pallet loading as required.

+ Verify product specifications through visual inspection, automated measuring and monitoring equipment, and final test equipment.

+ Initiate programs and operate test stands to test assembled pumps and other products, following established procedures.

+ Assist Engineering in troubleshooting general issues related to product performance, equipment, or processes.

+ Proactively work to resolve problems that affect meeting specifications and communicate with the Line Lead or Supervisor to obtain additional resources when needed.

+ Document actions and outcomes by accurately completing production and quality forms, including scrap tags and other records.

+ Escalate issues to the Line Lead that prevent execution of standard work, such as worn, missing, or out-of-calibration tools, equipment functionality problems, missing components, or quality concerns.

+ Maintain product quality by following established procedures, standard work instructions, scrap procedures, and customer requirements.

+ Promote and maintain a clean and safe work environment by complying with all procedures, policies, and regulations.

+ Notify the Line Lead or Supervisor immediately of any problems, safety concerns, or quality issues observed in the work area.

+ Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times and adhere to all safety guidelines in the plant.

+ Participate in and contribute to team efforts by working toward daily metrics posted in specific work areas and supporting colleagues as needed.

+ Maintain daily housekeeping standards to promote a clean, organized, and productive environment.

+ Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Line Lead or Supervisor to support production and continuous improvement.

• Essential Skills
• + At least 6+ months of experience in a manufacturing environment.

+ Preferred previous experience in mechanical assembly or similar hands-on production work.

+ Ability to perform mechanical assembly using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.

+ Capability to read and follow work instructions, job packets, and basic blueprints or diagrams.

+ Skill in using measuring tools such as tape measures and automated measuring or monitoring equipment.

+ Demonstrated ability to meet standard levels of productivity and production targets.

+ Attention to detail in examining parts for correct fit and verifying specifications through visual inspection and test equipment.

+ Ability to operate test stands and follow established testing procedures after training.

+ Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues affecting product quality or production flow.

+ Ability to accurately complete production and quality documentation, including scrap tags and related forms.

+ Commitment to following safety procedures, wearing required PPE, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.

+ Comfort working on your feet throughout the shift in a manufacturing environment with moving equipment and production activity.

• Additional Skills & Qualifications
• + Experience working with mechanical components, pumps, or similar equipment is a plus.

+ Familiarity with standard work, scrap procedures, and customer quality requirements in a manufacturing setting.

+ Experience collaborating with Engineering or technical teams to troubleshoot equipment or product issues.

+ Ability to communicate clearly with Line Leads, Supervisors, and team members regarding issues, progress, and resource needs.

+ Strong teamwork orientation and willingness to contribute to shared daily metrics and goals.

+ Organizational skills to maintain housekeeping standards and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Work Environment
• This role is based in a clean, modern manufacturing facility where you will be standing for the full shift while working at production lines and workstations.

The environment includes exposure to oils, cleaners, moving parts, equipment, and coolants, as well as areas with loud noise where hearing protection is required. Eye protection is required in all plant work areas, and slip-resistant safety shoes are necessary for safety. Proper PPE must be worn at all times. The shop is kept very clean and is air-conditioned, providing a comfortable temperature-controlled environment while you perform your duties.

• This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
• Pay and Benefits
• The pay range for this position is $20.

86 - $20.86/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
