Job Description
Steel Equipment Specialists is a leading player in the steel equipment manufacturing and engineering industry, committed to delivering top-quality products and services to our clients. With a strong dedication to innovation, design, and commissioning, we are seeking a motivated and dependable Control Panel Techniciann to join our team.
Job Summary:
Electrical assembly and wiring of material handling and process line control panel systems per layout design drawings and electrical schematics. Includes electrical motor control, operator and interface stations, I/O enclosures. Responsibilities- Electrical power and control component recognition and function. Inspect components for defects, non-conformance
- Layout, assemble and mount electrical control components for wiring per electrical design and manufacturer's spec, determine correct method to secure electrical components per panel shop standard, using tape measure, t-squares, powered and manual hand tools
- Interface with electrical engineer to discuss any design layout issues for resolution
- Wire electrical control panel system per electrical schematics, manufacturers spec using acceptable wiring standards and practices.
- Practice and model proper tool usage, safety standards. Requirements and Skills
- Mechanical aptitude; proper use of assembly and wiring tools per generally acceptable shop practices and manufacturers spec. Previous control panel assembly required.
- Read, understand, interpret electrical schematics. Must know electrical symbols and identify on electrical schematics. Previous control panel wiring required. Knowledge of wire type and size and correct terminating methods.
- Minimum 2 3 years experience assembly and wiring of electrical control systems per
NFPA-70, NEC, UL-508A
- Knowledge of how to wire Relays, Operator Interface devices, VFDs, I/O devices, Sensors, Motors.
- Working relay logic, basic computer skills
- Ability to work independently and in a group setting, making decisions based on information given for desired requirements
- Stand for 8 hr. shift; Lift 40 50 lbs. from floor
- Must have verbal, math, reasoning skills. Benefits
