Position:
Assembler/Machine Operator Company Description:
Northwestern Tools is a family-owned, growing manufacturing company founded in 1942. Northwestern Tools is a leading U. S. manufacturer and supplier of clamping and work-holding components, spring and ball plungers, fasteners, thread repair inserts, knobs and handles, hoist rings, and specialized tooling components.
Position Description:
The Assembler/Machine Operator is a versatile production worker who provides support across different production areas, performing various tasks as needed under the direction of the Operations Manager.
Activities include:
assembly, reworking parts, running manual machines, operating a CNC Mill.
Position Responsibilities:
Each day, the Operations Manager will assign the Assembler/Machine Operator to a specific department or job. The assembler/operator will work under the direction of the department supervisor to support department activities. Assembly Build boards, operate press, sort or rework parts, assemble components by hand. Trained and able to run equipment and use inspection tools. Follow ERP procedures for recording setup and production labor. Machine Operator Safely operate CNC Mills and manual machines, including knob rotary table, drill press, manual lathes, saw and tumbler. Load and unload material. Inspect parts to print, make necessary changes to correct production process to be able to run parts to print. Follow ERP procedures for recording setup and production labor. Read and interpret manufacturing prints. Document Quality, and write legible notes.
Position Requirements:
Able to stand and operate machinery for 2 hours at a time, up to 8 hours a day. Able to lift and move parts up to 50 pounds. Able to read manufacturing prints. Able to work collaboratively and independently while troubleshooting and navigating a changing environment. Excellent verbal communication skills. Comprehend and utilize general manufacturing knowledge. Able to work independently with little supervision. Must be authorized to work in the USA with no current or future sponsorship required. Additional Preferred Skills Prior manufacturing experience. Basic machining operations and processes. Knowledge of Hurco mills
