Job Summary We are seeking a dependable Fabrication Associate to support pipe fabrication, material handling, and equipment operations in a fast-paced shop and yard environment. This position involves moving, measuring, cutting, threading, beveling, assembling, and preparing pipe for shipment. The role is hands-on and physically active, requiring strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to safely operate industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have 68 months of recent experience working with machinery, such as band saws, automatic welding machines, pipe threaders, roll groove machines, plasma cutters, or pneumatic banders. Experience using a forklift for at least 36 months is also required. Candidates must be comfortable accurately reading a tape measure, using gauges for quality checks, performing basic calculations, and working with automated machinery and computer controls. Responsibilities include moving loose or bundled pipe throughout the shop and yard, assembling pipe orders, setting up and maintaining fabrication equipment, measuring and cutting pipe, threading and beveling pipe, performing quality inspections, and maintaining safe and organized work areas. Training on specific pipe fabrication equipment may be provided. This position works in a non-climate-controlled environment, which can become very hot during warmer months. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and in physically demanding conditions. Candidates with backgrounds in auto mechanics, diesel mechanics, machinery maintenance, automotive production, farm equipment, or other mechanical environments are encouraged to apply. Previous fire sprinkler pipe fabrication experience is a plus.
