Minerva Welding & Fabricating, Inc. - Minerva, Ohio Full-Time Position Summary Minerva Welding & Fabricating (MWF) is seeking an Entry to Intermediate Level Fabricator / Welder / CNC Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This is a cross-functional manufacturing position designed for someone who has a foundation in metal fabrication and welding and either has entry-level CNC machine operating experience or has the mechanical aptitude and willingness to develop those skills. This employee will be expected to float between our Fabrication, Machine, and Finishing Departments based on production needs . The ideal candidate enjoys variety, wants to develop multiple manufacturing skills, and is willing to work wherever they can provide the most value to the organization. Role Fabricator / Welder / CNC Machine Operator Primary Responsibilities1. Fabrication & Fitting Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, job travelers, and work instructions. Measure, layout, fit, and assemble fabricated metal components. Use tape measures, squares, levels, calipers, and other measuring equipment. Fit fabricated components to drawing requirements. Perform basic through intermediate fabrication work. Operate fabrication equipment and hand tools safely and effectively. Verify dimensions and workmanship throughout the fabrication process. 2. Welding Perform MIG welding on carbon steel and other materials as assigned. Produce welds that meet drawing, workmanship, and customer requirements. Perform tack welding, production welding, and fabrication welding. Inspect completed work for weld quality, dimensional accuracy, and overall workmanship. Grind, clean, and prepare welds and fabricated assemblies as required. Continue developing welding capabilities through training and hands-on experience. 3. CNC Machine Operation Operate CNC machining equipment at an entry to developing skill level. Load and unload parts, fixtures, and tooling. Follow established CNC programs, setup instructions, and work instructions. Perform basic machine setup activities within demonstrated competency. Monitor machines during operation. Inspect machined parts using appropriate measuring equipment. Make basic adjustments and offsets when trained and authorized. Identify machining problems and communicate them to experienced machinists, programmers, or supervisors. Develop greater CNC machining knowledge and capability through cross-training. 4. Finishing As production requirements dictate, assist the Finishing Department with activities including: Grinding Deburring Cleaning Surface preparation Preparing fabricated components for painting or shipment General finishing of manufactured components Other finishing activities as assigned 5. Cross-Department Manufacturing Support This position is specifically intended to provide manufacturing flexibility. The employee must be willing and able to move between: Fabrication Department Machine Department Finishing Department Assignments will be based on workload, customer requirements, production capacity, employee skill level, and the needs of the business. The employee is expected to approach assignments with a positive attitude regardless of the department in which they are working.
