Job Description

1) Job Experience a. High School Diploma, Technical Trade School, or GED required. b. 2 to 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing assembly environment. c. 1 to 3 years of experience operating drill presses, CNC shear, brake press and horizonal/vertical saws, and power hand tools. d. 1 to 3 years of experience as a sheet metal fabricator. e. 1 to 3 years of experience using inspections tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) 2) Job Expectations a. Follow PDI's health and safety policies. b. Wear required safety equipment that complies with tasks being performed. c. Fill out required daily time sheets and work orders. d. The goal is to maintain daily work order labor efficiency of 85%. e. Able to read and interpret blue prints/drawings to determine assembly specifications and maintained. f. Required to select the proper hand tools and/or power tools to assemble the product per the drawing specifications. g. Determine method and sequence required to complete an assembly per the drawing specification with no assistance of a supervisor. h. Inspect own work and work of Mechanical Assembler I. i. Use banding equipment, stretch wrap, and nail guns to package product for shipment. j. Set-up and operate drill presses, power saws (vertical and horizontal), power shears, brakes and other equipment with assistance of the supervisor. k. Drill and tap parts as required. l. Give guidance/instruction to a Mechanical Assembler I. m. Have tow motor certification. n. Perform paint touch-up of final assembled product. o. Clean work area at the end of each day. p. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor. 3) Requirements to be considered for a Mechanical Assembler/Machine Operator III a. Certified to operate a tow motor. b. Ability to read and interpret drawings without supervision assistance. c. Able to set-up and operate drill presses, saws, and all power tools used in assembly. d. Able to inspect own work and work and verify torques values and other critical drawing specifications are measured with calibrated measuring equipment. e. The goal is to maintain daily labor efficiency of 85% or higher. f. Daily labor tracking sheets are error free. g. Set-up and operate specific machines (manual milling machine, presses, manual lathe, gang drills, shear, brake and others).
