Tear-Down (Automotive Disassembler) Job Description Position Summary The Tear-Down Employee (Automotive Disassembler) is responsible for safely and accurately disassembling welded components by use of various tools including but not limited to fork chisel and hammer, air hammer, or other power tools etc. for validation of the welding process. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience using hand and power tools, and the ability to work in a fast-paced prototype environment where processes and priorities may frequently change. Essential Duties & Responsibilities  Perform complete or partial disassembly of welded components while maintaining weld structure/shape/form.  Perform the work by following visual identifiers to ensure all materials needing weld validation is separated and weld nut is accessible and easy to measure.  Operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, torque tools, lifts, hoists, and shop equipment safely.  Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S standards.  Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental guidelines.  Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, logistics, and production teams. Secondary duty & Responsibilities  Inspect components for wear, defects, damage, or quality concerns.  Support material movement within the facility.  Perform Cut & Etch process (cutting of welded components, sanding down material for validation of the penetration of the weld) Required Qualifications  High school diploma or GED preferred.  Strong mechanical aptitude.  Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.  Ability to read work instructions, diagrams, and basic technical documentation.  Strong attention to detail and organization skills.  Ability to work independently and in team environments.  Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a prototype manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications  Experience in prototype or low-volume automotive manufacturing.  Forklift and/or overhead crane experience.
