Job Description
Adecco is hiring immediately for an Engineering Technician with a local client in Hillsboro, OR. Pay is $23.00/hr. - $25.00hr.
Duties:
- Looking for a motivated person passionate about science and technology to work on current and future projects that continue to push the boundaries of the next generation of digital lithography.
- Work will require coordinating with key stake holders in Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Operations to meet tight timelines, precisely, accurately, and at scale, on a daily basis for complex engineering projects that require assembling, building, testing, recording of measurements.
- Primary task will be to support on-going manufacturing of a key sub-assembly through the test, measurement, integration and further testing.
- Performs routine to moderately complex optical, opto-mechanical, mechanical, and electrical functions and activities such as test, checkout, modification, troubleshooting and assembly of optical, opto-mechanical, mechanical, and electrical, manufactured sub-assemblies, experimental design circuitry, prototype models, specialized test equipment, tools and test fixtures.
- Complete tasks using class 1 through class 4 lasers in a clean room environment.
- May test and troubleshoot system level and component level problems in, optical, electrical and mechanical systems and sub-systems.
- Works from procedures, schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or plans to perform non-routine and routine activities.
- Compiles logbooks and follows existing test procedures with and contributes to the augmentation of existing test procedures utilizing good writing skills.
- Observes all safety standards.
- Maintains a secure, safe, clean and healthy work environment. Attends required health and safety training and follows safety and security policies, procedures and practices.
- Promptly reports accidents, injuries, safety hazards, or emergencies to supervisor or Safety dept.
- Follows operating instructions, uses protective equipment when required, and uses equipment and materials properly.
- Becomes familiar with current manufacturing and/or engineering processes and stays informed of any changes in procedures.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Fizeau interferometers and associated measurements
- Hands-on experience working with optics and lasers
- Experience with Python and other programming languages a plus
- Very good hand-eye coordination and ability to assemble and disassemble precision components using precision hand tools.
- This is a physically demanding position that often requires standing or sitting for extended periods of time, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, lifting, the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, the use of hand and power tools, and driving or operating heavy machinery including forklifts.
