This position requires strong mechanical assembly, fabrication, welding, and equipment-handling skills. Key Responsibilities Assemble large, complex industrial equipment and mechanical subassemblies according to blueprints, specifications, and work instructions. Review assembly instructions, drawings, and parts lists to prepare required tools, materials, and components. Plan assembly procedures and coordinate with engineering, supervisors, and other team members throughout the build process. Install mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components and controls. Fabricate structural steel and sheet metal components, including ducts, transitions, tanks, machine guards, piping, and related assemblies. Tacks, welds and cuts all types of steel. Operate sheet metal fabrication equipment and perform layout work to ensure proper fit while minimizing material waste. Rig, lift, and position equipment and subassemblies using overhead cranes and forklifts. Monitor labor hours and communicate causes of positive or negative labor variances. Train and assist less-experienced assemblers with assembly, fitting, fabrication, and welding procedures. Maintain established quality standards and accurately document completed work. Redline drawings to identify changes and return updated prints to the appropriate supervisor. Manage multiple assembly projects and priorities as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in a related field preferred. Approximately 5 years of mechanical assembly or related manufacturing experience preferred. Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation. Assembly skills must include proficiency in and the ability to perform, in any position, the following metal assembly procedures: 1) MIG welding (stainless and carbon steel), 2) TIG welding, 3) Stick welding, 4) Plasma cutting, and 5) Torch/flame cutting. Experience with mechanical assembly, structural fabrication, sheet metal work, rigging, overhead cranes, and forklifts. Working knowledge of basic shop mathematics, measurements, fractions, and decimals. Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving Ability to communicate effectively and accurately maintain production documentation Willingness to work overtime and travel to subcontractor or customer locations when required.

Pay:

$23.00 - $30.00 per hour
