Full Job Description Job Description UNIMAC Graphics is a diversified print and graphic communications company serving clients in the Northeast as well as select clients throughout the United States. The company consists of professionals dedicated to delivering world-class service in print production, integrated marketing communications, data service, fulfillment and customer support. We are seeking an experienced In-Line Gluer Operator to join our packaging production team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating high-speed folder-gluer machines to convert die-cut blanks into finished folding cartons and boxes. The ideal candidate possesses deep mechanical knowledge of gluing systems, a strong eye for quality control, and the ability to keep production running efficiently. Essential Functions:
Set up and operate high-speed folder-gluer machinery according to job tickets, layouts, and structures (e.g., straight-line, lock-bottom). Perform comprehensive make-ready processes, adjusting the feeder, pre-breakers, folding hooks, guides, belts, and delivery sections. Configure and maintain gluing systems (hot-melt extruders, cold-glue nozzles, and electronic glue-detection sensors). Monitor production runs to ensure precise folding squares, accurate glue placement, and secure bonds without scuffing or contamination. Pull regular quality samples to inspect for alignment, structural defects, and barcode legibility. Perform routine preventive maintenance, clean glue systems daily, and clear mechanical jams quickly to minimize downtime. Direct and assist backend packers to ensure accurate counting, bundling, and stacking of finished products. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company safety standards.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) or equivalent Must have experience; a minimum 2-5 years of experience operating folder-gluers (Bobst, Jagenberg, or similar high-speed lines).Ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift/move up to 50 lbs.
