Orangeburg, NY Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Associate Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, inspecting, and verifying prescription eyewear while maintaining high quality standards and productivity goals. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing, production, or optical environment and possess strong attention to detail. All duties must be performed according to established standards and in compliance with company policies and procedures. Regular attendance and overtime availability may be required to meet business needs. Key Responsibilities Remove lenses from frames and trace frames using specialized equipment. Block lenses using finishing blocker devices. Cut lenses to the shape of frames using edging equipment. Mount and secure lenses into eyeglass frames using hand tools and specialized equipment. Inspect frame alignment, pupillary distances (PDs), segment heights, and lens fit. Verify lens circumference and frame fit. Clean lenses and frames as needed. Inspect frames for scratches, defects, and overall quality. Verify frame type and conduct cosmetic inspections of lenses. Compare frame and lens specifications against machine diagrams for accuracy. Check alignment of frames, lenses, and temples. Apply lens markings and verify proper lens alignment. Read, analyze, and follow work orders to ensure production accuracy. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Adhere to all safety, quality, and productivity standards. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED preferred. Experience 2 to 5 years of related experience in manufacturing, production, assembly, optical finishing, or a similar environment strongly preferred. Skills & Abilities Communication Skills Ability to read and understand simple instructions, work orders, memos, and correspondence. Ability to write basic correspondence and documentation. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Mathematical Skills Basic addition and subtraction skills. Ability to work with fractions and measurements. Understanding of decimal numerical sequencing.
