Job Summary The Grinder II will use large swing grinders and/or small hand grinders to condition metal parts, remove defects, smooth surfaces, and prepare parts for finishing operations. The role requires attention to detail, safe equipment operation, and the ability to work in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Inspect and feel workpiece surfaces to identify defects. Remove defects, sharp edges, burrs, scratches, laminated metal, excess weld material, and other imperfections. Select the appropriate abrasive belt, wheel, or disk based on specifications, metal condition, and knowledge of abrasives. Attach and operate grinding wheels, belts, and disks safely. Grind and smooth metal surfaces according to required specifications. Polish ground areas using finer abrasives to achieve a smooth, unmarred finish. Replace worn abrasive disks, wheels, and belts as needed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions. Required Skills & Knowledge No formal education required. Experience operating large swing grinders and/or hand grinders is preferred. Experience with metal grinding, deburring, polishing, or defect removal is highly desirable. Ability to identify surface defects and determine appropriate grinding/abrasive methods. Ability to work safely in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.

$21.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
