In this role, you will prepare wood surfaces, sand, fill nail holes, and apply stain. Your attention to detail and work ethic will help ensure our projects are completed efficiently, safely, and with high‑quality results. This position offers hands‑on experience in wood finishing for both commercial and residential projects, with opportunities to grow alongside skilled professionals. Requirements Must know how to sand wood surfaces properly (orbital + hand sanding) Must know how to apply stain consistently and cleanly Ability to prep doors, cabinets, panels, and furniture Able to follow instructions and work efficiently Reliable, punctual, and able to work full time Required Skills Strong sanding experience (orbital, hand sanding, block sanding) Ability to prep wood surfaces for stain, primer, and finish Knowledge of grit progression (80/120/150/180/220) Ability to apply stain evenly without blotching Understanding of wood types (pine, maple, oak, MDF, veneer) Able to identify and correct surface defects (scratches, dents, swirl marks) Experience with putty, fillers, and sealers Able to follow finishing instructions and quality standards Able to lift doors, panels, and materials as needed Detail‑oriented and consistent with repetitive tasks Able to work in a fast‑paced shop environment Team‑oriented and able to communicate clearly Why Join Us If you're eager to grow your skills in wood finishing while contributing to high‑quality custom projects, this is the place for you.
