Come Grow with Us! We are seeking an experienced Polisher to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for preparing, grinding, blending, finishing, and polishing stainless steel components and assemblies to meet Osgood Industries' appearance, dimensional, and hygienic requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail and the ability to produce consistent, high-quality finishes on stainless steel surfaces. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship and understands that surface finish is an important part of the quality and functionality of hygienic processing equipment. . What You'll Do Grind, blend, smooth, and polish stainless steel parts and assemblies using hand-held and powered finishing equipment. Remove weld discoloration, scratches, tooling marks, surface imperfections, and other defects. Blend welds and surrounding surfaces to achieve the required finish and appearance. Produce consistent surface finishes in accordance with drawings, specifications, work instructions, and customer requirements. Use abrasive belts, wheels, discs, Scotch-Brite•type products, polishing compounds, and other finishing materials as appropriate. Select the appropriate abrasive, tooling, speed, and finishing technique for the material and desired finish. Maintain proper direction and consistency of grain patterns on stainless steel surfaces. Perform final finishing and polishing of components following fabrication and welding operations. Inspect finished surfaces for scratches, pits, discoloration, weld marks, uneven finishes, and other imperfections. Use measuring and inspection equipment as required to verify dimensions and surface requirements.
Required Qualifications:
1+ year of experience in metal polishing, grinding, finishing, fabrication, welding, or a related manufacturing environment Strong attention to detail, visual inspection skills, and the ability to produce consistent, high-quality finishes on stainless steel surfaces Ability to use hand tools and powered grinding/polishing equipment safely Ability to recognize differences in surface finish and identify surface imperfections Ability to read, interpret, and follow blueprints drawings, operating and maintenance procedures, safety rules, and other related material Basic understanding of measurements and dimensions Ability to safely handle metal components and materials Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:

Shift:
