Job Description

Top Cell Operator (1st and 2nd Shift) Royston LLC is the industry leader in the advanced design, manufacture and installation of first-class store interiors for the convenience, grocery, quick serve restaurant, mass merchandise, food service and specialty retail segments. We are currently looking for Top Cell/ Solid Surface Operators on 1st and 2nd shift. Position Summary (major areas of contribution): Efficiently and effectively cut out, build, assemble, and sand solid surface components to build solid surface countertops. This may require one to be able to read blueprints and make adjustments. All countertops must be made in a uniform way according to the desired size and shape. These duties shall be performed in a safe and effective manner. Essential Functions /
Job Responsibilities:
Attention to detail, able to read drawings, and produce product from detailed blueprints Self-starter; must be able to work with little supervision Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools Cut out, build, assemble, glue, cut, and sand all solid surface components for assigned jobs Inspect finished solid surface products to ensure all work is done without distortions or flaws Monitor manufacturing specifications in blueprint-type documents to ensure that proper materials are used for job orders and meets company quality standards and job specifications Maintain accurate records of materials used for job orders using material usage sheets and report solid surface factory defects Complete other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications /
Skills:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment Must be able to lift 50+ pounds without assistance Understanding of production procedures Ability to read blueprints Experience in a woodworking manufacturing environment Responsible for troubleshooting and rectifying problems that may occur during the process Comfortable operating machine tools, sanders, and measuring equipment Ability to work well with other team members Ability to work safely, identify hazards, and follow safety procedures Experience (type and amount of experience required): 3+ years hands-on experience working with solid surface material, solid surface counter tops fabrication in a manufacturing or woodworking environment preferred, but not necessary Experienced with a wide variety of power and hand tools including but not limited to chop saws, glue guns, sanders, routers
Requirements:
Good math and problem-solving skills Ability to read blueprints Eager to learn High mechanical aptitude Results driven Attention to detail Frequent and extended time standing Be able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds Kneel, crouch, crawl, when needed Hand and finger flexibility and dexterity Be able to raise arms above shoulders regularly and freely rotate shoulders/arms to lift/move parts on and off the machine First shift: 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, M-F with occasional Saturday, if scheduled Second shift: 4:30 pm to 3:00 am, M-F with occasional Saturday from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, if scheduled.
