This individual will be a key player in fabrication operations at our Harahan, LA location. Applicants should be self-starters, able to complete tasks with little direct supervision. Responsibilities Perform general housekeeping/clean up in assigned area Operate shop equipment as necessary Assist fabricators in performance of their duties Gather materials. Move material to next station Assist as need with cleaning and appling chemical treatments to welds Assist other departments as needed through cross‑training and providing coverage during busy times It is essential that this position is performed at the facility. Requirements High School diploma, GED Equivalent, or Vocational School diploma. Ability to work in and maintain a safe work environment Entry level knowledge of all equipment and tools necessary to perform the duties required Ability to learn how to operate material handling equipment to move and align materials Must be able to learn Laitram Machinery Quality Standards Must be able to perform the essential job requirements identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to lift and move 50 lbs Desired Qualifications Previous fabrication experience and/or vocational training. Previous overhead crane experience Previous forklift experience EOE/M/F/Vet/Disabled
