Under the supervision of the Director, Manager and Supervisors, technician prepares patients and equipment for therapy; assist therapist in administering treatment; performs tasks to maintain the department in an orderly manner. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values. Assist therapists with patient care including the following: Prepares patients for treatment; assist therapists with patient transfers, dressing, ambulation, and positioning for treatment. Transporting patients as needed. Prepares equipment such as FEES, CPM, traction or electrical stimulation Maintains department in an orderly manner. Promotes a safe environment for patients and staff in the hospital. Delivers documentation written by therapists to patient charts and files them, send to medical records or fax to physician offices. Assist with inventory control and supplies Performs other work duties as assigned. Employee is required to sit, stand and walk continuously. Employee must lift/carry light (1-20 lb.) and medium (21- 50 lb) loads continuously and heavy (50lb. +) loads frequently with assistance or lift equipment. Employee may be required to lift over 100 lbs with assistance or with lift equipment. Employee is frequently required to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, reach forward, and reach overhead continuously. Employee is frequently required to lift from floor to waist and to lift from waist to overhead. For repetitive actions, employee is required to use both hands for simple grasping, pushing/pulling and fine manipulation. Employee is occasionally exposed to electrical hazards, blood borne pathogens, and temperature changes. Verbal and cognitive ability are necessary to understand oral and written instructions regarding set up and operation of equipment, as well as to relay information to staff members. Numerical ability is required to compute patient charges. Good body mechanics needed to minimize strain when demonstrating how to use equipment. Depth perception is needed in the handling of patients. Motor coordination and manual dexterity are required. Speech, hearing, and visual acuity are essential. Visual acuity is necessary to read instructions, charts, control dials and meters, adjust equipment (walkers, parallel bars, IV's, oxygen tubing, Foley catheters, ventilator) Clerical perception is needed to keep accurate records. Work shifts may vary to meet specific client demands. Employee must demonstrate an ability to work with people tactfully and exhibit qualities of decision-making skills, judgment and motivation. (

67-100%) The most significant of duties are included but this does not exclude occasional work assignments not mentioned or developmental duties. A high school diploma or GED is required. Some experience as a rehab technician preferred. Employee will be trained on the job, and given annual competency testing by the department. Must be certified in CPR. The assessment, care and treatment provided by the technician will be consistent with the specific age related needs of the client. The technician is competent to monitor client in the following age groups: pediatric, adult and geriatric adult clients.
