Summary:
At Cutting Edge Manufacturing, we are looking for an experienced Powder Coater. This is a part-time , 2nd shift position. The Powder Coater is responsible for applying high-quality powder coatings to metal parts, ensuring durability and a high quality, professional finish. This role requires attention to detail, proper surface preparation, and the ability to operate and maintain powder coating equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in coating processes, quality control, and working efficiently in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Apply powder coating to metal surfaces, including frames and machined parts, using a powder coating system
- Prepare surfaces for coating by cleaning grease, dirt, and other contaminants
- Operate and maintain powder coating equipment, including spray guns and curing ovens
- Mix and prepare powders according to specifications
- Inspect coated parts for quality assurance and make necessary adjustments
- Maintain powder coating equipment, tools, and work area
- Pickup/Deliver materials/orders/supplies as needed.
- Conduct machinery preventative maintenance and repairs
- Perform Startup/shut down procedures
- Assemble purchased items and manufactured components when required
- Operate forklift
- Organize and maintain general shop cleanliness
- Must work overtime as required on a case-by-case basis.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work with little to no supervision . Ability to work 2nd shift, flexible hours between 2:30 - 10:30 PM, and train on 1st shift for a few weeks.
- Ability to read and understand basic information provided on blueprints
- Proficiency in utilizing general hand tools and reading a tape measure
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to lift, bend, stretch, reach, kneel, push, pull, climb, stand for long hours, and must have manual dexterity in hands and fingers to operate the coating equipment, and other tools necessary for the job.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with internal and external customers and staff.
- Punctuality, safety consciousness, willingness to learn, good attitude, and professional appearance
- Must have a valid driver's license, a means to commute to work, and own basic tools
- Strong personal organizational skills, ability to maintain a neat and organized work area, and accurate time entry
Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 16.0 - 29.0 per week
