Operate grinders and saws in Foundry Operate wheelabrators to tumble, wheelabrate, or vibrate with prescribed speeds and time cycles, using timers or other specified means as instructed to clean, deburn, burnish, work harden and finish a variety of castings and parts following prescribed methods and established routines. Sometimes requires shoveling castings into equipment. Use hoists and slings, automatic and manual equipment, shovels, or other equipment to load and unload. Move and position tote pans or other containers as required Use correct type and amount or water, detergent, stove, chemicals, or any other media, as specified in the proper sequence, as instructed or required. Load and unload as specified. Use correct processes and machinery if necessary for coremaking function such as core scraping, core painting, operating muller,core blow machine, and core and mold ovens. Make minor adjustments to equipment and clean inside and outside as necessary. Maintain records and reports as required. Maintain an acceptable level of quantity and quality as specified. Report any discrepancies, unusual operating conditions, or difficulties, to immediate supervisor. Observe good housekeeping practices and prescribed safety precautions. Responsible for keeping an orderly storage area for all materials used, segregating stone and other media by size and type. Perform other similar or associated duties as required or assigned.
