Job Description

North Houston Intercontinental Airport area. Day Shift and weekends if needed. Could be Night Shift soon. MUST be available for either shift.
  • Polish rotors per written work instructions and per job router
  • Ensure that coating thickness is within specification and meets all requirements prior to beginning the polishing process
  • Identify specific abrasive belts to be utilized at their appropriate stages in the polishing process
  • Identify proper measuring tools and measure readings accurately
  • Sign job router as polishing activities are completed
  • Operate polishing lathes, forklifts, and overhead cranes
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area
  • Responsible for observing all safety practices by ensuring all machine guards and other safety equipment or devices are in place and in good working order before and during operation
  • Ensure all required personal protection equipment is used at all times
  • Help in other departments as needed Education
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic mathematical skills and comprehension Experience
  • Previous experience operating manual lathes preferred
  • Knowledge of thermal spray practices and techniques preferred Skills
  • Ability to successfully communicate with others
  • Ability to read and comprehend written work instructions and procedures
  • Basic understanding and use of measuring devices

$20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 60.0 per week
