Job Description
POWDER COAT - METAL MANUFACTURING
Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find Powder Coat for a metal manufacturing facility located in Manor, TX. In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing metal parts while maintaining quality and safety standards. This is a great opportunity for an experienced powder coat professional looking to grow within a stable and supportive company. As a Powder Coat, you'll be responsible for:- Preparing metal parts and surfaces for the powder coating process
- Cleaning, sanding, masking, and properly preparing parts before coating
- Operating powder coating equipment and applying powder according to specifications
- Setting up and adjusting powder coating equipment as needed
- Inspecting coated parts for proper coverage, finish, color, and quality
- Identifying and correcting coating defects such as runs, thin coverage, or uneven finishes
- Hanging and removing parts from racks and production lines
- Following production schedules and meeting daily quality and productivity goals
- Maintaining powder coating equipment and reporting any issues or maintenance needs
- Keeping the work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards
- Following all company safety guidelines, PPE requirements, and procedures
- Supporting team members and supervisors with daily production needs
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- 2+ years of powder coating experience
- Experience working in a metal manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
- Knowledge of powder coating processes, equipment, and surface preparation
- Ability to inspect finished products and identify quality issues
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to safely handle metal parts and production materials
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Reliable work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Basic understanding of manufacturing and shop safety practices
- Ability to follow work instructions and production specifications
