Under the direct supervision of the department Team Leader, uses a hand grinder to smooth surfaces of metal to remove slag and any other properties on welded products.

Roles/ Responsibilities:

Grinds, sands, cleans, or polishes objects or parts, using hand tools or equipment. Moves controls to adjust, start, or stop equipment during grinding. Trims scrapes, or deburrs objects or parts, using hand tools or equipment. Applies solutions and chemicals to equipment, objects, or parts, using hand tools. Records grinding project status work on a Production dispatch list. Follows all safety procedures and wears safety equipment or apparel as required. Assists daily with all housekeeping duties in the work area.

Qualifications:

1. Intermediate knowledge of mechanical machines and tools, uses, benefits, repair. 2. 1-3 years previous/related experience. 3. High School Diploma/GED 4. Ability to read, write and communicate English.
