Life:
The Concessions Specialist will perform the necessary functions required to operate the concessions café located inside the Arizona Humane Society Papago Park Campus. This includes performing opening and closing duties, operating a hot and cold line during service hours, making drinks and menu items according to standardized recipes and methods, and understanding POS procedures to create and close tickets. The Concessions Specialist will perform all functions necessary for a successful concession operation, including, but not limited to: handling all monies, being knowledgeable about all products and promotions, and providing excellent customer service to customers. The Concessions Specialist must have the ability to respond quickly to changes and adapt quickly as needed to meet the ongoing needs of the organization and our customers.
Job Requirements :
High school diploma/GED required. One-year prior work experience in a high-volume kitchen or beverage service environment required. Food Protection Manager Certification (Food Handler's Manager Certification) preferred. Experience in customer service and/or retail preferred. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required. Must be able to handle food items safely and properly in a kitchen environment. Understanding of retail and cash handling operations required. Ability to learn/use POS software (for use with food service in a restaurant environment). Complete food preparation procedures according to written instructions. Promote and recommend retail products to staff and visitors to help increase sales and ensure budgets are met. Ensure paperwork and data entry is completed accurately and legibly. Perform cashier duties; close-out cash drawer, count money and balance reconciliation form. Multitask and handle multiple, simultaneous orders. Keep necessary items and supplies adequately stocked and understand their uses and applications. Continue to expand knowledge of staff dietary needs and restrictions. Assist drivers with loading and unloading orders. Perform routine inventory checks and create vendor orders as necessary. Maintain knowledge of all available menu items, their ingredients, and their preparation methods. Create daily or weekly special menu items and order necessary items to execute them properly.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. There will be exposure to dust, heat, cold, and temperature changes; occasional wet floors, and animal noises, odors, and dander.
