Job Description
Position Summary:
Sukhi's Gourmet Indian Foods is looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join one of the fastest growing food companies in California. The QA Technician will be responsible for performing a wide variety of quality control testing. This will include routine observations and monitoring of receiving, manufacturing, and processing activities to assure that products are manufactured and processed in compliance with internal and external customer specifications that meet applicable regulatory compliance. - Performs physical, analytical, and microbial testing as well as sensory evaluation as per the written SOP's.
- Perform process and verification checks throughout the production, packaging, sanitation, and warehousing functions of the company.
- Perform sanitation audits, pre-operation inspections and conducts ATP's.
- Perform environmental testing using sterile technique.
- Assists the line technicians as required.
- Assists in the Sample Retain Program.
- Assists in raw material, packaging, and finished product Hold & Release Program.
- Prepares production line QA Stations and calibrates equipment for processing as needed.
- Generates departmental reports and consolidate QA audit reports.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of QA activities and USDA pre-shipment records.
- Adheres to company attendance and punctuality policy.
- Must understand company and customer specifications and ensure proper documentation.
- Employee shall also be trained but not limited to Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF, HACCP, CCP and Safety.
- Other additional duties as assigned by QA Supervisor/Manager.
Experience:
2-year degree or certificate in food science or related subject preferred, High school diploma or equivalent required. Required Skills, Knowledge or abilities:- Knowledge of food safety principles
- Ability to understand and operate basic product testing equipment
- High level of organizational skills
- Statistical analysis skills
- Basic math skills
- Attention to detail
- Data entry and interpretation, database maintenance.
- Intermediate computer skills (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
- Good written and verbal communication skills/fluent reading and writing skills in English Physical Requirements Work is normally performed on the production floor occasional work in the warehouse/production environment (with temperature as low as 0-degree F).
