Job Description
Summary of Position:
Seasonal Position The Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician is responsible for monitoring food safety controls, quality attributes, the plant environment, and GMPs. The FSQA Technician is responsible for assessing the quality and safety of the product during production. The position conducts quantitative and qualitative checks on product quality, enforces GMPs, and reports on issues in a timely manner. This level entry position will train with direct supervision until the mastery of one processing line is completed. Levels of progression are determined by evaluation by FSQA Manager or Director. Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Conduct and document process checks for food safety and/or quality with supervision. FSQA Technician must demonstrate proficiency in using analytical instruments for one line:- pH measurements
- Temperature readings
- Color analysis
- Solids, consistency, and other quality attributes 2.
Examples of such checks include:
- Metal detector checks
- Magnet checks
- Temperature readings
- pH measurements 3.
Qualifications:
- High school, or related job experience preferred.
- Some agricultural, food processing and general manufacturing process and equipment experience.
- Attention to detail for record-keeping and able to follow directions.
