Temporary Employee - QA Lab Jack in the Box (Corporate) - 3.3 San Diego, CA Job Details Temporary $22 an hour 12 hours ago Qualifications Computer operation Quick service & fast food restaurant experience Word processing Basic math High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Responsible, with supervision, for conducting food and packaging product evaluations for the Food Safety & Technical Services food safety and quality specification compliance sampling and testing program, including hamburger patty cook studies, to ensure adherence to Jack in the Box quality and food safety specifications and standards.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Evaluates and determines the acceptability of multiple products to ensure compliance to specifications. Conducts physical evaluations, product cook performance evaluations, and may assist with chemical testing. Calculates data and prepares summaries for product managers. Notifies supervisor and product managers if products do not meet specifications. Assists with organizing, recording, and receiving product samples from supplier and distributions centers into the QA Laboratory. Assists with ensuring proper rotation of products in storage refrigerator and freezer and prepares tested products for donation. Prepares food preparation and cooking materials, lab glassware, and dishware for evening cleaning service. Maintains grill and fryer cleanliness daily. Assists in maintaining and calibrating equipment and may perform preventative maintenance, as required. Assists with QA database entries. Assists with maintaining foreign object evaluation station, including stocking of supplies and locked storage area for objects. Performs other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required, assigned, and directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High school diploma; some higher education desired.

Experience:

2+ years, including laboratory science classes; quick serve restaurant experience preferred. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities - Excellent oral and written communications skills Excellent math skills Knowledge of personal computers and their applications (databases, spreadsheets, word processing) Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior Physical Requirements - Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone. Ability to operate a personal computer. Ability to lift equipment and cases of product weighing approximately 10-50 lbs.

Position includes exposure to:

Restaurant equipment (grill, fryer, holding unit, refrigeration systems, Fluke thermometers, and all equipment utilized in JIB restaurants), Laboratory equipment (balances, glassware, etc.), cleaning and sanitizing chemicals for equipment and smallware. Potential exposure to chemicals, contaminated food samples, raw food products, and processing equipment.
