Responsibilities:
Maintain product quality specifications through inspections and control procedures. In addition, must ensure that all SQF, HACCP, and regulatory requirements comply with USDA, FDA, or internal procedures. Must attend services suppliers related to cleaning/food safety, such as pest control, cleaning, and others, and review service records, and ensure compliance with internal procedures. Responsible for the verification and application of calibration procedures for the measurement devices, such as thermometers, scales, etc. Conduct daily internal inspections in the processing plant, which includes evaluation of temperatures, conditions, cleaning, and accommodation of the product in the storage areas. Monitor the shelf-life of products to ensure products do not spoil, and verify the change of locations procedures (fresh to frozen). Onboarding of hired personnel in all the topics related to Quality/Food Safety, such as PPE, HACCP, Food Safety Policies, and SQF. Document and report deviations in products originated by vendors, follow up development of claims and resolutions. Communication with other departments, such as warehouse operations, logistics, sales, purchasing, and others, to resolve issues related to company claims or follow-up projects.
Skills and requirements:
1-2 years of experience in a food-related manufacturing facility. College degree in Food Science or related field with HACCP certification. Quality Control experience in a food manufacturing facility. Knowledge of USDA/SQF/SOP and inspection performance (a plus). Knowledge of basic GMPs. (is a plus). Bilingual (English-Spanish). Must be able to read and write in English to perform necessary documentation. E-Verify company.
