Job Description

The Osage Cooperative Elevator currently has an opening for an Agronomy Salesperson. The Osage Co-op elevator was formed in 1945, and is one of only 6 single location Cooperatives in the state of Iowa. Through great service, it has grown to sales over $150,000,000 annually. The Osage Co-op Elevator serves its customer's needs with a grain, agronomy, feed, and energy department. With a well-established agronomy business, the OCE is looking for a candidate that can service an existing book of business while continuing to grow sales over time. Ideal candidate will have a passion for agriculture and a desire to learn. This is a full-time benefited position with health and life insurance, pension, 401K match, profit share, vacation, sick, and holiday pay. \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n
Job Requirements:
\r\n\r\n\r\n\tAgronomy or farm background\r\n\tSome knowledge of fertilizer, chemical and seed products\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n
Job Duties:
\r\n\r\n\r\n\tConsulting with customers to make appropriate recommendations for crop protection, fertilizer, seed products and other available agronomy services.\r\n\tMaintaining current customer base as well as developing new customer contacts.\r\n\tMaintaining high customer satisfaction by handling issues professionally.\r\n\tWorking directly with supervisor to discuss product promotions and/or issues in the field and to keep supervisor apprised of current sales trends.\r\n\tAssisting with agronomy plant operations as necessary.\r\n\tWork alongside other agronomists to carry out daily responsibilities\r\n\tKeep up to date on all agronomy services and technology, including seed, Precision Farming technology, finance and marketing tools\r\n\r\n
