Job Description

Job Purpose Industrial Maintenance Technicians are responsible for completing necessary repairs to a variety of food manufacturing equipment. Additional duties are assigned as the level increases. Duties Assist on new facilities equipment (HVAC, Chillers, Boilers, etc.) and manufacturing equipment installation, working professionally with manufacturing representatives, the Engineering team, and other cross-functional department team members Diagnose equipment malfunctions utilizing inspection, operation and testing of equipment for diagnostic purposes. Provide support for root cause analysis to create corrective actions. Perform equipment calibrations and preventive maintenance, including but not limited to lubrication and frequency-based tasks Understand and adhere to all safety guidelines and GMPs Understand when to contact manufacturers' service technicians for assistance with repair or replacement of faulty equipment Update the computerized maintenance system with accurate information related to work performed Exhibit a sense of urgency around work order completion and documentation of work performed; must be comfortable quickly escalating and communicating equipment issues to others for additional support and resources Use CI Tools such as 5 Why for root cause analysis and problem-solving Requirements Successful candidates will have a 2-year degree in Industrial Maintenance or two-plus years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment Thorough working knowledge of all current OSHA and Safety Standards Ability to multitask and prioritize; strong time management skills with the ability to work without extensive supervision Strong mechanical abilities and troubleshooting aptitude required; Electrical experience and experience with HVAC, Chillers, Boilers, and Air Compressors strongly preferred Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team Professional, can-do mentality Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk, stand, and climb for prolonged periods of time; talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment; and reach with hands and arms. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds, being able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery, and using specialized tools, equipment, and machines is required. Duties include intricate repairs, which will require working in confined spaces, on and around complex machinery and packaging systems, requiring a high level of manual dexterity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The position will also frequent the production floor, so operating in standard seasonal warehouse and food processing plant temperature conditions will be required. Pay:
$31.30 - $39.28 per hour
