Job Description
1 Agricultural Technician w/ C & M Newton Farms LLC @ 9848 Pointe Coupee Rd. New Roads, LA 70760 in Pointe Coupee Parish. Monitor crop development for schedules, yield targets, & quality standards. Record crop/environmental data; manage irrigation & growing conditions; analyze inputs; scout for pests, weeds, & disease; support integrated pest/nutrient mgmt. Operate/maintain ag & controlled environment systems; collect samples; assist w/ testing/research; maintain daily reports. Apply knowledge of plant physiology, health, & propagation in ag operations/infrastructure maint. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Work involves indoor/outdoor exposure to heat/humidity. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, honey bees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals may affect job performance. Work req. repetitive movements, frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing/pulling, lifting/carrying. Minimum 2 yrs. relevant ag experience/training req'd.
