- 2:00 PM What You'll Do As a Food Safety Technician, you will help ensure that food safety, sanitation, and quality standards are followed throughout the production process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform environmental testing according to established SOPs.
- Complete HACCP checks, measurements, and required documentation accurately and on time using AuditComply and other reporting systems.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections, including ATP testing.
- Monitor compliance with GMPs, HACCP programs, sanitation standards, and company SOPs.
- Observe product flow throughout production departments to ensure food safety requirements are being met.
- Work with leadership to identify food safety coaching and training opportunities.
- Operate and verify metal detector systems according to company procedures.
- Assist with food safety training and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with Critical Control Points (CCPs).
- Identify product, process, or equipment issues and take appropriate corrective action.
- Ensure chemical storage areas remain secure and compliant.
- Communicate food safety concerns, non-conformances, and corrective actions to production and leadership.
- Assist with facility preparation for audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. At least 2 years of production experience required. Knowledge of food processing, food safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance is preferred. Skills & Abilities We're looking for someone who is: Detail-oriented and committed to food safety and quality. A strong verbal and written communicator. Organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks. A good problem solver with strong reading comprehension. Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment. Able to work independently as well as part of a team. A strong listener and effective communicator. Comfortable with basic computer use and data entry. Proactive about identifying problems and taking corrective action. Positive, dependable, and willing to coach and support fellow team members. Physical Requirements This position requires working in an active food production environment. Qualified individuals must be able to:
- Bend, stoop, climb, and reach overhead.
- Safely use cutting tools, including knives and mandolins
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work safely in confined spaces when required.
- Operate food processing equipment and machinery.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Work in cold and wet production environments for extended periods.
- Work various AM and PM shifts and overtime as needed.
