Job Description

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Schoolcraft Elementary as a Food Service Technician. This part-time position requires a commitment to providing nutritious meals in a safe and welcoming environment for our students. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for food service and a commitment to fostering a positive dining experience for children. Schedule Student days from 7:30 AM to 1:30PM Responsibilities Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and menus. Assist in the daily setup and breakdown of the food service area, ensuring cleanliness and organization. Maintain food safety and sanitation standards throughout the food preparation and serving processes. Monitor food temperatures and portion sizes to ensure compliance with health regulations. Assist with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and storing food and supplies. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal service and address any issues that arise during service. Support students during meal times, promoting healthy eating habits and positive interactions. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance food service skills. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in food service or a similar role is a plus. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students and staff. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods. A passion for promoting healthy eating and a positive dining experience for children.
