JOB SUMMARY
: Responsible for overseeing breeder/broiler farms and providing customer service as a Company representative to contracted growers. Monitors grow house conditions and bird welfare, provides technical assistance and recommendations on improving conditions and grower performance, and makes recommendations for cost reduction for the company and growers.
DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
: Serve as liaison between Company and contract growers providing technical advice to growers on company expectations (i.e. building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, farm sanitation, industry best practices, policies, procedures, bio security, and animal welfare). Track, compile, analyze and record data pertaining to flocks (i.e. bird weight, mortality rates, flock completion rates, egg production, etc.) Monitor assigned flocks (i.e. bird comfort, equipment settings, male spiking, fertility, hatchability, culling, etc.) to ensure producers comply with all Company policies and procedures, regulatory guidelines and Federal and State regulations and laws when handling poultry; report non-compliance and/or abnormalities to appropriate personnel. Monitor vaccination program to ensure vaccinations are administered correctly and as scheduled. Maintain feed tank inventories ordering feed and coordinating deliveries to ensure proper quantity and type is delivered to growers in a timely manner. Follow and promote all safety initiatives helping to maintain a zero-accident.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
MUST possess strong knowledge of animal welfare and food production safety regulations. MUST know how to effectively utilize a personal computer and a variety of software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. MUST possess exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills. MUST possess a valid and active Driver's License with a safe driving record. MUST possess skills in communicating in a courteous and professional manner, both verbally and in writing to team members, live staff of all varieties, and contract growers. MUST have exceptional time management and prioritizing skills. MUST be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. MUST be able to work in all temperature conditions, assisting growers, contractors, and other employees with the safe handling, removal, and transportation of live animals. MUST be able to work in loud working conditions, where volume may fluctuate throughout the workday. Must be able to pass required physical including demonstrating your ability to lift the required weight for each position. Ability to stand or walk for an entire 8-hour shift. Ability to reflect the values of our company in public settings. Ability to work flexible hours as needed. MUST be familiar with and in compliance of The Packers & Stockyards Act with all assigned duties and responsibilities.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience in poultry, other food processing plants, or various agricultural practices is highly preferred. Associate's degree or higher in agricultural sciences or similar field preferred. Bilingual skills in Spanish are preferred, but not required. This position requires that you cannot own or have any contact with animals with feathers, other than those owned by Lincoln Premium Poultry, during your employment with LPP.
