A Food or Agricultural Technician assists agricultural and food scientists with research and testing related to safety and quality control. May focus on testing and lab analysis for animal crops and animal feed, or focus on testing and lab analysis for food, food crops, processed food, food additives and food containers.

We are looking for a hands on Maintenance Mechanic with experience programming & troubleshooting PLC / Automation systems to join our team that thrives in a fast-paced environment that values craftsmanship and continuous improvement. What You Will Be Doing Install, configure, and commission automation systems including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and actuators
Perform PLC and HMI troubleshooting and make program adjustments as needed (ladder logic, FactoryTalk, Wonderware, etc.)
Troubleshoot and repair production equipment across mechanical, electrical, and automation systems
Maintain and repair conveyors, industrial ovens, and production lines
Execute preventive maintenance (PMs) to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
Diagnose and resolve equipment failures quickly in a fast-paced production environment
Support automation improvements and assist with system upgrades or modifications
Work hands-on with mechanical systems including pneumatics and hydraulics
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve performance and efficiency
Use CMMS to document maintenance activities and track work orders
Ensure compliance with safety, food safety, and quality standards
Work in a production environment that may include heat, physical activity, and equipment access at heights What You Will Need For This Job Experience as an Automation Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, or similar role in manufacturing
Strong hands-on experience with both mechanical systems and automation equipment
Ability to troubleshoot PLC systems (must be more than basic exposure)
Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (ladder logic required)
Familiarity with HMI systems such as FactoryTalk, Wonderware, or similar platforms
Experience with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus preferred)
Strong mechanical skills including conveyors, production equipment, pneumatics, and hydraulics
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
Experience performing preventive maintenance (PM programs)
Comfortable working in a hands-on role that includes both controls and mechanical work
Willingness to troubleshoot equipment on the floor, not just focus on programming
Experience in food manufacturing or high-speed production environments preferred
