Horticultural Service Technician / Interior Plant Care Technician Are you passionate about plants and enjoy working independently in a hands-on, active environment? We are seeking reliable, motivated professionals to join our team as Horticultural Service Technicians, responsible for maintaining interior and exterior plant displays across the Austin area. This is a full-time position. What You'll Do As a Horticultural Service Technician, you will maintain healthy, vibrant plant displays at multiple client locations while following a structured service route. You'll work independently while representing our company with professionalism and attention to detail. Interior Plant Care Assess soil moisture and properly water plants according to species and environmental conditions Prune, trim, and shape plants to maintain healthy growth and an attractive appearance Remove yellowing or damaged foliage and groom plants for presentation Clean and dust leaves to promote plant health and maintain visual quality Apply fertilizer and soil treatments when needed Rotate plants or adjust placement based on light conditions Plant Health Monitoring Inspect plants for early signs of pests, disease, or stress Identify common indoor plant pests such as spider mites, scale, mealybugs, and fungus gnats Apply approved treatments or report issues requiring replacement or further care Display Maintenance Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of decorative containers and planters Replace moss or decorative top dressing as needed Assist with plant replacements, installations, and seasonal updates Customer Interaction Maintain a professional appearance and positive client relationships Communicate with clients when necessary, regarding plant care or service Represent Texas Tropical Plants with professionalism at all job sites Route & Service Management Follow a structured service schedule and complete each stop within allotted service times Maintain accurate service notes and reports Manage service routes efficiently and work independently throughout the day Tools & Equipment Safely use horticultural tools including pruners, scissors, spray bottles, watering equipment, and ladders ________________________________________ What You'll Need Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening Comfortable walking, bending, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs Ability to work in both interior and exterior environments Comfortable being physically active throughout the day Access to a personal vehicle for daily work use Basic plant knowledge or a strong interest in learning horticulture ________________________________________ Benefits and Compensation $18-$20 per hour depending on experience.
