About the State Fair of Texas Since its inception in 1886, the State Fair of Texas has celebrated all things Texan by promoting agriculture, education, and community involvement through quality entertainment in a family-friendly environment. The State Fair of Texas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with proceeds helping to preserve and improve our home, Fair Park; underwrite museums, community initiatives, and scholarship programs to support students throughout the Lone Star State pursuing higher education; and help improve State Fair operations. SUMMARY Being responsible for food supplies that are running low. Stocking and maintaining the safety and health of each food or beverage item. Assisting with food handling and sales. DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Functions:
Replenishing supplies and condiments, assisting in maintaining inventory and taking food orders. Maintain cleanliness in food service areas and throughout the food establishment. Notifying kitchen staff of any food orders or food shortages. Or maybe responsible for operating cooking equipment or preparing dishes and beverages. Must be able to operate drink-dispensing machines and be trained in fast paced food preparation. A knowledge of governmental health regulations and food safety is required. •Food handling and sanitation knowledge is also vital. Should possess the ability to review and understand procedures, and general math skills are also necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
Quick and efficient preparation and distribution of food. Must be able to stay alert and be able to exercise quick thinking. The ability to handle pressure and maintain an adequate energy level are a must. EXPERIENCE and
TRAINING GUIDELINES
Any combination of experience that would likely provide the required knowledge is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Preferred Education and/or
Experience:
High School Diploma or higher level of education. Prior experience in food handling. Oral and written communication.
License or Certificate:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate Texas driver's license.

Reports to Maintenance Work independently with minimal supervision.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Environmental Conditions:
Working outdoors in various weather conditions and on uneven and/or slippery surfaces, as necessary, especially during Fair time and special events.
Physical Conditions:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties require maintaining physical condition necessary for Remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time. Moving short and long distances to access office supplies, meet guests, perform duties within Fairgrounds, etc. Verbally communicate with both internal and external contacts. Occasionally lift objects no more than 25 pounds unassisted
