Job Description
Direct contact and supervision of inmates. Supervises the preparation, cooking and serving of meals in the jail; supervises the preparation of meats, vegetables and other food for meals; instructs inmate workers assigned to food service work in the proper techniques of food preparation; controls the amount of food prepared; prepares bread, vegetables, meats, fish, poultry and desserts; cooks and serves meals from basic foods to jail inmates; keeps simple records and makes reports in connection with the work; supervises and participates in the cleaning of the kitchen storeroom and utensils; accounts for all utensils after meals are finished; checks closely each step in the cooking process; performs related work as required; prepares staff meals daily, ensuring inmates do not have contact with staff food. The Salary for this position is $43,176.51. This position will be open until filled.
