Job Description

This position will report directly to the Upholstery Supervisor and be responsible for the utmost quality craftsmanship of each piece of furniture passing through the assigned cell in a timely and efficiency manner with a focus on personal safety, the safety of others, and continuous improvement initiatives.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Possess desire and ambition to work safely and efficiently and report all work hazards immediately. Use hand tools such as air powered staple guns, pliers, staple pullers, scissors, and regulators to build top quality furniture frames. Work with materials such as glue, staples, and screws. Conduct routine maintenance of work tools and equipment. Examine furniture frame parts, springs, etc. to identify any defects before building. Use computer to pull up Framing & Springing specifications and/or details specific to the piece. Construct the furniture frame using glue and framing staples. Sand all corners of finished frame with hand sander. Construct inner suspension of furniture installing spring support system. Install cardboard, burlap, foam fast, etc., as applicable. Work in a cellular environment with a team of co-workers in the safest most efficient manner possible. Discuss complications or assembly cell slowdowns with supervisors and brainstorm solutions for increased productivity. Work with quality department to repair any defects. All other duties as assigned.
