We offer Michigan families and businesses products and design support to create fresh and exciting living spaces with quality, long-lasting furniture. Job Description We are currently seeking someone who is extremely detail-oriented and interested in learning how to make minor repairs and touch-ups to furniture pieces both in our warehouse and on-site with on-the-job training. Furniture Repair Technician Responsibilities Examine products for defects, determine the complexity of the problem, and whether or not repairs can be made in-house. Repair damaged furniture to new condition in the allotted time frame. Complete upholstery repair including mechanism replacement. Determine if the furniture is repairable or if it must be replaced. Track and maintain inventory and document movement of merchandise. Maintain housekeeping. Keep all hazardous chemicals properly labeled and stored according to government standards. Follow up on customer service requests and schedule in-home service appointments. Complete in-home repairs when necessary. Furniture Repair Technician Requirements Must maintain good attendance. Be able to lift over 50 pounds. Turn and twist at waist level with moderate waist level bending. Visually inspect and sort defective products. Positive, upbeat attitude. Ability to lift, push, and pull required weights. Ability to operate all hand tools and power tools. Ability to match colors and simulate wood grain. Operate scanning equipment preferred. Ability to learn new skills quickly. Ability to efficiently work independently of direct supervision. Maintain a clean and organized shop area and service truck.
