Under routine supervision, this position is responsible for shaping, finishing, and refinishing damaged furniture or new high-grade furniture to specified color or finish. Provides guidance and suggestions on product returns, procedures and solutions to ensure high quality services are provided to customers and vendors. Incumbent must be able to work any shift to satisfy the demand for flexibility of scheduling to ensure operational success. This includes, but is not limited to, day shifts, night shifts and weekend shifts.Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments, material, and equipment needs
- Mix finish ingredients to obtain desired colors or shades
- Fill and smooth cracks or depressions, remove marks and imperfections, and repair broken parts, using plastic or wood putty, glue, nails, and/or screws
- Examine furniture to determine the extent of damage or deterioration, and to decide on the best method for repair or restoration
- Brush, spray, or hand-rub finishing ingredients, such as paint, oil, stain, or wax, onto and into wood grain; then apply lacquer or other sealers
- Maintain the inventory for parts necessary for the installation and maintenance of appliances so they are stocked with sufficient quantities and reordered when depleted
- Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to setup for product repair
- Compile reports regarding returns activities and provide guidance/ suggestions returns information for specific product categories within a merchandising department. Provide procedures and solutions to ensure high quality services are provided to customers and vendors
- Ensure compliance with established internal control procedures
- Maintain inventory records and reporting on inventory levels and activity for product repair
- Receive, issue and store supplies and equipment; processing customer turn-ins; inspecting, verifying and counting supplies and equipment for accuracy, overall condition and accountability
- Track and maintain quality assurance metrics and documentation, such as defect densities and open defect counts; assist in generating problem resolutions and reporting
- Perform check-ins and check-outs; verify order completeness and inspect for damage
