This opportunity is ideal for someone experienced in refurbishment, furniture restoration, woodworking, painting, refinishing, fabrication, construction, handyman work, or similar hands-on trades. This is not a traditional full-time or part-time position . Work is assigned on a project-by-project basis, and additional project details will be discussed with qualified candidates during the interview process. Work Location & Schedule There is no daily reporting location . Selected contractors may complete assigned projects from their own home workshop, garage, studio, or other appropriate workspace. Candidates throughout New York City, Lower Westchester County, and the surrounding NYC metropolitan area are encouraged to apply. The schedule is flexible and based on available projects. Hours may vary from week to week. Initial projects are expected to begin during the first week of October 2026 . Responsibilities Clean, prepare, restore, and refinish various materials and items Perform sanding, painting, minor repairs, and finishing work Accurately measure and cut materials when required Complete basic woodworking and fabrication tasks Safely operate common hand and power tools Maintain a clean and professional finished appearance Provide progress updates and photos when requested Communicate promptly regarding project status, materials, or potential delays Complete accepted projects within mutually agreed-upon timelines Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is: Reliable and responsive to communication Comfortable working independently Experienced with hands-on refurbishment or similar work Detail-oriented and creative Capable of taking accurate measurements Comfortable using common hand and power tools Able to produce clean, professional-quality finished work Safety-conscious Able to manage projects within agreed-upon deadlines Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Furniture restoration or refurbishment Carpentry or woodworking Painting and refinishing Fabrication Construction or maintenance General handyman work Similar hands-on trades Candidates should have access to their own appropriate workspace and basic tools/equipment necessary to perform this type of work. Compensation Indeed displays this opportunity at $25 per hour for posting purposes. This is a flexible, project-based contract opportunity . Before accepting an assignment, the contractor will receive information regarding the project's scope, expected completion timeframe, and compensation. Project requirements and compensation will be agreed upon before work begins. There are no guaranteed weekly hours or guaranteed number of assignments.
