Furniture Assembly Specialist (Part-Time) $25/hour + W-2 Employee + Flexible Schedule + Travel Supplements + Keep 100% of Customer Tips Join Our Growing Assembly Services Division Do you enjoy assembling furniture, solving mechanical challenges, and working with your hands? Local Handyman of the Mid-South is looking for an exceptional Furniture Assembly Specialist to help launch and grow our new Assembly Services Division. This is first and foremost a furniture assembly position. You'll assemble furniture, closet systems, shelving, garage organization, fitness equipment, office furniture, grills, outdoor furniture, and many other products in customers' homes that they typically order online and then need help with assembly. Unlike many assembly companies, you'll become part of an established handyman business known for professionalism, craftsmanship, and outstanding customer service. Our office is located in Germantown, Tennessee , and we typically serve customers within approximately a 20-mile radius of Germantown. Every day is different, with opportunities to work in beautiful homes throughout the Mid-South. As one of the first members of this new division, you'll have an opportunity to help shape its future. Between assembly appointments, you'll also assist with neighborhood marketing and community outreach activities that help introduce Local Handyman of the Mid-South to more homeowners.
What You'll Do:
Furniture Assembly Assemble residential and commercial furniture Assemble closet systems and shelving Assemble outdoor furniture, sheds, and grills Assemble garage organization systems Read manufacturer instructions and assembly diagrams Use hand tools and power tools safely Complete final customer walkthroughs Photograph completed projects Community Outreach and Local Marketing Between appointments you'll occasionally: Distribute neighborhood door hangers Place yard signs (with customer permission) Visit local businesses to replenish brochures Photograph projects for marketing Capture short videos for social media Help strengthen our presence throughout the communities we serve We're Looking For Someone Who Enjoys building and assembling products Takes pride in quality workmanship Has strong mechanical aptitude Is dependable and punctual Enjoys meeting customers Communicates professionally Is comfortable learning new products Is willing to use AI tools such as ChatGPT to prepare for unfamiliar assembly projects Requirements Valid driver's license Reliable personal vehicle Smartphone with internet access Ability to lift 50 pounds Comfortable using hand and power tools Ability to pass a background check Previous furniture assembly, handyman, cabinet installation, carpentry, or residential construction experience is preferred, but we value mechanical ability, attention to detail, and a positive attitude just as much.
