Full Job Description Overview:
The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a highly skilled Furniture Finishing & Touch-Up Specialist to join the only Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences. The Furniture Finishing & Touch-Up Specialist will be responsible for preserving the flawless appearance of our luxury interiors through expert-level wood repair, refinishing, and finish matching. We are looking for a detail-oriented craftsperson with an eye for excellence that can seamlessly restore furniture, millwork, and finishes to their original condition.Responsibilities:
Perform high-level wood touch-up, repair, and refinishing on furniture, case goods, millwork, and decorative surfaces. Expertly mix, blend, and match paints, stains, toners, and varnishes for exact color and sheen consistency. Repair scratches, dents, chips, and wear using professional finishing techniques. Strip, sand, refinish, and seal surfaces to luxury standards. Maintain flawless presentation aligned with Forbes Five-Star expectations. Evaluate damage and determine best repair vs. refinish approach. Maintain a clean, controlled work environment. Document work and manage finishing materials inventory. Collaborate with hotel departments to prioritize guest-facing areas.Qualifications:
Aspire to our values of being passionate, strive for excellence, remain relevant, collaborate and act with honor and integrity 5+ years hands-on experience working around mechanical, electrical, plumbing, kitchen, finishing. Previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred Artisan-level craftsmanship with strong wood finishing experience; Advanced knowledge of stains, lacquers, varnishes, and color blending. Exceptional attention to detail—repairs must be undetectable. Skilled to match finishes precisely under varying lighting. Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required.Physical demands:
Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and prolonged extended periods of standing.What we offer you:
