POSITION SUMMARY

The Cart / Engine Prep Technician orchestrates the flow of parts, information, and communication between Engine Assembly, other departments, and the build schedule — using spreadsheets, databases, and tracking systems to keep every build on track. This person must be extremely comfortable living in Excel and data-tracking tools day to day, since that's how schedules, parts, and outstanding needs are managed. A working knowledge of engines and transmissions is also required to prepare and stage carts accurately and catch problems before they reach the build technician or the customer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Own daily tracking of builds, parts, and outstanding needs in Excel, Asana, and other spreadsheets/databases — this is a core, hands-on-keyboard part of the role Review the build schedule regularly and proactively identify parts, information, and prep needs before they become problems Serve as the point of coordination between Engine Assembly, other departments, and scheduling — orchestrating who needs what and by when Communicate with other departments to coordinate requirements, resolve discrepancies, and keep builds aligned with customer needs and deadlines Track incomplete carts and outstanding items, and follow up relentlessly until they're resolved Flag potential shortages, delays, or problems to the Engine Assembly Manager / Shop Foreman before they affect production Identify and recommend improvements to tracking systems, cart processes, and cross-department communication Prepare engines and transmissions for assembly, gathering, verifying, and organizing all components needed for each build Learn engine/transmission differences across years, makes, models, and manufacturers to catch mismatched or missing parts Build and stage complete, accurate carts so assembly technicians have what they need, and keep the staging area clean and organized

QUALIFICATIONS

Comfortable working in Excel, spreadsheets, and data-tracking tools — this is a daily, primary part of the job Strong organizational skills and ability to orchestrate moving pieces across multiple departments

Preferred:

experience with spreadsheets/databases, engines or transmissions, powersports/automotive/motorsports equipment, or production/inventory environments

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs Standing, bending, reaching, and moving throughout a shift Comfortable working in a shop, warehouse, and engine assembly environment
