Job Description
Job Summary STI Metal Fab is a full-service structural steel and miscellaneous metals contractor serving commercial and industrial construction projects. From design and fabrication to installation, we deliver quality steel solutions and are looking for a qualified individual to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, and maintaining a plasma table to produce precise metal components according to technical specifications. Your experience in machine operation, measurement, and safety standards will ensure high-quality output and efficient production processes. Responsibilities Set up and operate plasma cutting machine, ensuring proper calibration and alignment for each job. Interpret blueprints, work orders, and layouts to accurately produce parts. Program and adjust nesting files and load DXF files as needed. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on plasma cutting equipment to minimize downtime. Measure finished components with precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications. Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety standards in production. Load and unload materials using forklift. Additional tasks as assigned by Shop Foreman. Qualifications Experience operating CNC plasma tables or similar CNC machining equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately. Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges for quality control. Knowledge of safety standards related to machine operation, metal fabrication, and shop environment.
