About the Role Aluminess and MGP Caliper Covers are looking for a dependable, reliable and detail-oriented Metal Finisher / Grinder / Deburrer to join our welding and fabrication team. This position is responsible for cleaning, grinding, sanding, buffing, and finishing welded metal parts and assemblies to meet quality, safety, and production standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience using grinders, buffers, sanders, and other finishing tools in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Key Responsibilities Grind, sand, buff, dress, and finish welded metal parts to remove weld splatter, burrs, sharp edges, discoloration, and surface imperfections. Safely operate hand tools, grinders, sanders, buffers, polishing wheels, and other finishing equipment. Inspect parts for visual defects, rough edges, or quality concerns and report issues to the supervisor. Follow work instructions, drawings, production schedules, and quality standards. Prepare parts for powder coating, painting, assembly, packaging, or shipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Wear required PPE and follow all company safety procedures. Qualifications Previous experience in metal finishing, grinding, buffing, dressing, welding support, fabrication, or manufacturing preferred. Ability to safely use grinders, buffers, sanders, and basic hand tools. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality concerns. Ability to follow work instructions, production paperwork, and safety procedures. Reliable attendance and ability to work as part of a production team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements throughout the shift. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and parts up to 50 lbs. as needed. Ability to grip and operate handheld power tools for extended periods. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, sparks, fumes, and moving equipment. Must be able to wear required PPE for assigned tasks. Work Environment This position works in a welding and fabrication shop environment. The role may involve exposure to loud noise, metal dust, sparks, heat, fumes, and industrial equipment. Safety awareness and proper PPE usage are required at all times.

Pay:

$18.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
