Job Summary:
The Set-Up Technician is responsible for preparing, adjusting, and maintaining metal tubing production equipment to ensure efficient and accurate manufacturing operations. This role plays a key part in supporting production goals, maintaining product quality, and ensuring safe machine operation. All tasks are to be performed in accordance with the Accu-Tube Quality Management System.
Essential Job Functions:
Know and follow all safety requirements, including wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Responsible for understanding and following the Accu-Tube Quality Management System (QMS). Set up, calibrate, and adjust metal tubing machinery and tooling according to production specifications and job orders. Perform start-up checks to ensure equipment is operating correctly and safely before production runs Measure and inspect first and last sample pieces to verify all specifications and workmanship standards have been met Read and understand job travelers and work instructions to confirm proper machine configurations Assist engineering and production operators troubleshoot out of tolerance sample runs and adjust tooling combinations as necessary to produce a conforming product Perform in-process inspection of own work and work run by other operators using inspection tooling to verify product is within specifications (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) Complete required paperwork for each production run, audit paperwork filled out by newer operators to help correct any issues that might arise Learn and understand how to operate production equipment of moderate complexity; maintain machines as necessary. Keep critical machinery and assemblies operating at optimal efficiency as assigned by Supervisor. Perform all routine tasks to meet defined output rates. Understand and follow all written work instructions. Other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Basic mathematical skills required 2+ years of experience in machine set-up within a manufacturing environment, preferably metal tubing or metal fabrication Experience with other metal fabrication jobs, machining or stamping operations preferred Candidates who are willing to work OT is a plus! Ability to read product specifications and use measuring instruments High attention to detail with a focus on achieving precise and accurate outcomes. Ability to speak and understand basic English language. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment set-up issues with minimal supervision Willingness to work flexible shifts, overtime, and weekends as required Strong adherence to attendance policy as defined by company handbook. Support new ideas and helps to implement them. Knowledgeable about existing policies, practices and procedures. Report any problems, deviation, or quality concerns to a supervisor. Maintain a clean work area and personal appearance; daily shift cleaning required. Work well as a member of the team, following the company's Code of Conduct. Physical Requirements 1. Physical Strength Exert up to 50 pounds of lifting combination of metal and wood materials Perform greater weightlifting with a partner Team lifting of long metal tubing bundles per quality guidelines
Pay:
$24.75•$26.75 per hour
