GFY is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator interested in joining an influential work environment. This position will assist the Crew Chief and operate instruments necessary while surveying to determine precise location and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, mapmaking, land division, titles, mining, or other purposes by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities:
  • Operation of Electronic Data Collection equipment (Trimble preferred)
  • Operate contemporary survey instruments with little supervision or training
  • Duties may differ depending on the area or project
  • Perform a variety of routine tasks and work closely under supervision
  • Perform a variety of tasks in support of survey or engineering activities
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Willing to travel from time to time
  • Experience with Topographic Surveys, Boundary Surveys, Construction Layout, & GPS Surveys
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work outdoors, in various weather and terrain conditions
  • High school diploma or an equivalent
  • Minimum 1-year experience
