Job Duties:
Responsible for CNC operations and programming to manufacture metal components used in high-performance marine and Navy vessel systems. Perform machine programming and machine setup. Design and construct tooling and fixtures. Conduct job planning and part production. Ensure precise part manufacturing in compliance with critical service requirements and quality standards. Review blueprints and other technical instructions to determine operational methods and sequences. Calculate dimensions of workpieces, products, or equipment. Determine production methods and operational procedures. Prepare raw materials for processing and production. Test materials, solutions, and samples. Measure materials to mark reference points, cutting lines, and other indicators. Install mechanical components in production equipment. Mount attachments and tools onto production equipment. Program equipment to perform production tasks. Operate cutting equipment. Operate metal or plastic forming equipment. Operate grinding equipment. Design tools, fixtures, and devices for production equipment. Measure dimensions of completed products and workpieces to verify conformance to specifications. Sort recyclable materials and ensure proper disposal of production waste. Monitor equipment operation to ensure proper functioning. Maintain production and processing equipment. Diagnose equipment malfunctions. Assemble machine tools, parts, and fixtures. Conduct test runs of production equipment. Advise others on methods to improve processes and products. Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair. Replace worn equipment components. Monitor lubrication of equipment and workpieces. Assemble electromechanical or hydraulic systems. Create diagrams and blueprints for workpieces and products. Exchange information with colleagues and train less experienced personnel.
Minimum Education Requirement:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering.
Special Skills Required:
Strong organizational and planning abilities, along with a conceptual and technical understanding of production operations and manufacturing principles.
