Swagelok Louisiana provides critical fluid system products, assemblies, training, and services to customers in a variety of markets including oil & gas, refining, chemical, midstream, power and transportation industries. Position Summary The Technician II is a hands-on fabrication and assembly role focused on bending and assembling stainless-steel tubing, fittings, hoses, and custom fluid-system assemblies. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and fabricate with limited standard work while meeting Swagelok quality standards. Technicians will obtain applicable Swagelok certifications and also assist with maintaining the tool rental fleet. Tubing, fittings, mechanical assembly, and print-reading experience strongly preferred. This is a mechanical fabrication position, not an instrumentation/calibration technician role. Expectations Builds assemblies that may consist of both Swagelok and third-party products using certified Swagelok processes. Assists other technicians Efficiently troubleshoots and problem-solves Performs simple and complex changes, adjustments, and set-up to equipment Learns new equipment and processes Reads manufacturing prints Meets production and quality objectives of the department Uses tape measures, saws, and drills Performs periodic maintenance of equipment and documentation Package assemblies, this may include building custom crates. Performs the above and all other assigned responsibilities in safe and efficient manner.

Position Requirements or Qualifications Education:

High School diploma and/or equivalent required. Some technical courses or on the job training in related field

Experience:

Prefer experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting Mechanical or fabrication experience a plus

Skills:

Hands-on experience with tubing fabrication, tube bending, tube fitting installation, mechanical assembly, or similar industrial fabrication strongly preferred. Experience with Swagelok or other compression-style tube fitting systems is highly desirable. Basic understanding of manufacturing prints and products Basic shop math - ability to do simple calculations such as stack-ups Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Understanding of tape measures, saws, and drills Good verbal, listening and written communication skills Ability to work well with people Ability to multi-task Shows initiative by seeking what needs to be done and assisting others as needed

Computer Skills:

Familiar with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Ability to learn company inventory software Ability to certify on the forklift

Physical Requirements:

Frequently required to lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs. Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and use power tools; occasionally required to stoop, crouch, kneel, and climb ladder. Manual dexterity is needed to properly handle products and gages. Must be able to pass Visual Acuity test including ability to identify colors. Compensation This position includes a competitive base salary plus incentive compensation. Total earnings will depend on experience, industry background, customer relationships, and performance.
